I'm working with subnet masking and I'm getting really confused. With the IP address of 192.168.1.0 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.224, how do they get 8 potential networks and 30 hosts per network? I know that the 255's allow the top number to come down so 192 with a subnet of 255 is 192 because the ones from the subnet have no effect on the IP. But the last part is 224 from 0 so 00000000 with a subnet octet of 11100000 is still 00000000, correct? The 1's bring down the number from the IP...
