Error in creating a directory

Hello,
I am unable to create a directory in Hadoop cluster using the following command (this exercise is given as part of lab practice materials shared by simplilearn) :
hadoop fs -mkdir /learning.
This gives me the Permission denied error in cloud lab. Unable to attach screenshot as it's not allowing me to do so.
